A South Texas woman convicted of trying to steal the identity of her husband's ex-wife must serve 30 years in prison.
Prosecutors in San Antonio say Toni Stringfellow since 2012 tried to open credit cards in the name of her spouse's former wife and used her Social Security number.
The 54-year-old Stringfellow has a history of identity theft and served prison time, had targeted the ex-wife before and was sentenced Tuesday as a habitual offender.
Prosecutors say Stringfellow was released from prison in November 2012 and again tried using information about her spouse's ex-wife.
Stringfellow also allegedly stole the identity of a nurse, who was related to an ex-cellmate, to get a job at a nursing home. Police in 2013 arrested Stringfellow after some co-workers reported credit card thefts.
