UT to Review All Academic Support Services For Athletes

University of Texas President Greg Fenves says an investigation into allegations of academic misconduct in men's basketball could take a "couple of months," and he's ordered a broader review of academic services for the entire athletic department.

Fenves said Tuesday he'd been planning the review and it was pushed to the forefront after recent allegations of misconduct reported by the Chronicle of Higher Education.

The school hired Gene Marsh, who was on the NCAA infractions committee for nine years, to review the basketball program. He will also lead the review of all academic support services.

Fenves said the NCAA will have no role in the review but will be regularly advised.

Fenves says the first days of the basketball probe haven't found anything of major concern.
