Thousands of Texas students are scheduled to take the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness this week.
Students in third through eighth grades will have at least one STAAR test Monday through Wednesday. Some high schoolers will also test this week.
Here's how the testing schedule shakes out:
Monday
Math - Third, fourth, sixth and seventh grades.
Tuesday
Reading - Third, fourth, sixth and seventh graders.
English 3 - High school.
Wednesday
Science - Fifth and eighth grades.
Algebra 2 - High school.
Thursday
Social Studies - Eighth grade.
If your kids are testing this week, here are a few tips to help them get ready:
- Remember to eat a healthy breakfast.
- Pack a light sweater or jacket to help kids stay warm in the testing room.
- Plan for exercise and play time after school.
