A Texas lawmaker has introduced a bill that may spark controversy in the Lone Star State.

On Tuesday, State Sen. Bob Hall (R-Edgewood) filed State Bill 373 to designate English to be the official language of Texas.

It would mandate that official state business would be also conducted in English.

This is not the first time Hall has to to get the bill passed.

He filed a similar bill last year.

Other Texas lawmakers have sponsored similar bills, but none of them ever made it to the House floor for a vote, according to the Austin American-Statesman.
