Texas School District Employee Charged with Theft

A Hutto school district employee faces theft charges stemming from his previous job at the Comal school district.

The Austin American-Statesman reports that Thomas Bloxham is charged with theft, money laundering and misapplication of fiduciary duty.

The Texas Attorney General's office says Bloxham stole $20,000 to $100,000 from the Comal Independent School District between April 2010 and October 2012 while he was employed as the assistant superintendent of support services.

It says Bloxham also committed money laundering through several offenses, including bribery.

Bloxham was released Monday from Williamson County Jail after posting a $40,000 bond.

A Hutto school district spokesman says he has been placed on administrative leave without pay in his role as executive director of facilities and operation.

It wasn't immediately clear if Bloxham has a lawyer.
