The Texas Rangers are set to honor Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez with several events during a 10-game homestand beginning Friday.
The newly-inducted Hall of Famer will sign copies of his new book, “They Call Me Pudge: My Life Playing the Game I Love,” in the Kid’s Zone before Friday's game, which kicks off a three-game series against the Houston Astros. Fans can also take pictures with his Hall of Fame plaque.
On Saturday, the Rangers will retire Rodriguez' number during a pre-game ceremony. The team will then play the game wearing 1999 throwback uniforms. The first 15,000 fans will receive a Rodriguez bobblehead.
The first 10,000 fans to Thursday night's game against the Detroit Tigers will receive a collector pin commemorating Rodriguez’s No. 7.
Rodriguez was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame hist first time on the ballot last month. He was a the first homegrown Rangers player to reach the Hall.
