A church pastor in West Texas has blamed the devil for allegations that he sexually abused a child.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says Jean Jacob Jeudy was arrested Thursday. The El Paso Times reports the man was taken into custody for one count of sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact.
He was released on bail after being booked into jail on a $30,000 bond.
The pastor says the allegations against him are lies and are being made through the devil, saying "the devil is a deceiver. The devil comes to steal and destroy."
Jeudy also said his attorney is working to get the charges dismissed.
