Gov. Greg Abbott assured Texans late Wednesday that he shares their anger over deaths and hardships caused by blackouts and poor preparation for arctic weather that plunged the state into frontier-like living conditions last week.
“No words can fix what happened or ease the pain that you have endured,” Abbott said in a five-minute speech televised on evening newscasts statewide.
“But I assure you of this: This legislative session will not end until we fix these problems. And we will ensure that the tragic events of the past week are never repeated.”
