Texas Motor Speedway To Welcome Thousands For Fall Races

Texas Motor Speedway steps into the national spotlight again with weekend with another round of NASCAR races.

An estimated 150,000 people will descend on Fort Worth for the popular fall races. Those fans and race-lovers account for an approximate $300 million economic impact for Fort Worth and the surrounding region.

The race schedule includes:

• Friday: NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Striping Technology 350, 7:30 p.m.
• Saturday: NASCAR Xfinity Series O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge, 2 p.m.
• Sunday: NASCAR Sprint Cup Series AAA Texas 500, 1 p.m.

"Roads surrounding TMS will be extremely congested. Due to continued construction on Highway 114, traffic patterns may vary from those in previous years,” the Fort Worth Police Department warned in a media release.

Many arrived early for the races and have camped out near the track and in the infield area right in the middle of the action.

“We set up on Wednesday night. The party starts and it never ends until Monday afternoon,” “Moonshine” Mike Davis said.

Davis, who has followed racing since 1975, makes it a point to enjoy all aspects of race weekend.

An estimated 150,000 people will descend on Fort Worth for the popular fall races.

“The truth is it's all about the tailgate. The racing is great, but it's all about good food, lots of alcohol… lots of friends," Davis said.
