Texas Mom Indicted on Felony Child Sex Abuse Count

The West Texas mother of a slain mentally disabled teenager has been indicted on a felony count alleging she allowed her husband to sexually abuse the girl.

The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports that a grand jury indicted the mother Tuesday on aggravated sexual assault of a child.

She has been in jail since her arrest last month in Lubbock County. An arrest affidavit details how her 18-year-old daughter was found dead with her uterus removed in February in her family's partially burned home.

No charges have been made in the slaying of the teen, who told a school worker she had been impregnated by her stepfather. He remains jailed on a charge of sexually abusing the teen's younger sister.

Names of the family members will not be released because that could identify the surviving sibling.
