Texas Man Pretends to be Officer, Claims Meal Discount

Authorities have accused a Central Texas man of pretending to be a police officer in order to get a meal discount at a restaurant.

College Station Police say 29-year-old Folushayo Michael Gaiusbayode on multiple occasions this month went to a local restaurant and presented police identification and a badge and demanded a law enforcement discount for his food.

Police say the restaurant manager believed Gaiusbayode was a police instructor because he had indicated "he was now in training but used to work for Freeport PD" south of Houston.

Police say Gaiusbayode is not a police officer.

Gaiusbayode was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of falsely and unlawfully presenting himself as a commissioned peace officer, a misdemeanor.

Jail records didn't show an attorney for Gaiusbayode.
