Texas Man Gets 30 Years for Child Porn

Prosecutors say a North Texas man must serve 30 years in prison in a child porn case in which a 17-year-old posed as a sixth-grader to try to recruit students to molest.

Randy Ray Wesson of Hurst was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Fort Worth. The 29-year-old Wesson last year pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography and receipt of child porn.

Wesson's home was raided in 2014. The investigation led to more than 40,000 child porn images.

Authorities have said a 17-year-old male runaway had sex with Wesson and posed as his son, claiming to be age 12 and enrolling in elementary school. The teen last fall was sentenced to 20 years in prison for indecency with a child and probation for possession with intent to promote child pornography.
