Texas Inmate Agrees to Go to Oklahoma to Face Slaying Charge

A convicted kidnapper who recently led authorities to the remains in Texas of two women who vanished in 1997 has agreed in a court hearing to be returned to Oklahoma, where he faces charges in the slaying of a young woman there.

William Reece agreed at a Wednesday hearing in Galveston to be transferred to Oklahoma County where he faces murder and kidnapping charges in the 1997 death of 19-year-old Tiffany Johnston.

Reece, who is serving a 60-year prison sentence in Texas for kidnapping, wasn't charged in Johnston's death till last year.

He led Texas authorities this spring to the remains of 17-year-old Jessica Cain and 20-year-old Kelli Cox. He's also previously been named the prime suspect in the 1997 slaying of 12-year-old Houston-area girl Laura Smither.
