An off-duty Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Game Warden shot in December is still recovering from his injuries.
Chris Fried, 31, of Cooper was shot with a high-powered rifle on Dec. 31.
Fried had been bow hunting when he saw that he believed to be illegal hunting activity on state property and went to investigate according to the Texas Parks & Wildlife.
Fried suffered a a gunshot would to the upper right arm and the bullet lodged in his chest.

Eli Stephens, 18, and Dalton Haddix, 21, both of Illinois were arrested and charged in connection with the shooting.
Stephens has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Haddix was charged with failure to report a felony.
According to the Texas Parks & Wildlife the two men came to Texas for the holidays.
