Texas A&M Acquires Texas Wesleyan Law in Fort Worth

Texas A&M University has completed its purchase of the private Texas Wesleyan School of Law in Fort Worth.

A&M officials in College Station said the deal closed Monday. The new school will be named the Texas A&M University School of Law going into the fall term.

A&M officials said all accreditations for the law school remain in effect.

A purchase agreement was announced in June 2012. No acquisition cost was immediately released.

A&M has pursued adding a law school for more than 40 years.

Fort Worth's Texas Wesleyan University was founded in 1890 and is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
