Teen in Viral Video Reunited With McKinney Medical Staff

Two days after posting a viral video, a teenager was reunited with the medical staff who helped save his life.

Caleb Johnson was 13 months old when he was severely injured in a car crash that killed his parents and injured his four siblings on Nov. 22, 2000.

Johnson posted a video Tuesday on Facebook pleading for the public's help finding the hospital staff who treated him, particularly a nurse who stabilized him.

After NBC 5 aired his story, we learned the nurse, Dennie Miller, died years ago from cancer.

"That day, you weren't just a baby patient, you were Dennie's baby that day," said Michelle Hooks, an ER nurse at the time.

Some of the staff who treated the Johnson family still works at the hospital, now called Medical City McKinney.

On Thursday, they came face-to-face with Johnson via Skype.

"I don't think you understand the impact that you made on our lives that day. There's not a Thanksgiving that goes by that we don't think about you and your family," said Wendi Gracy, the ER unit secretary at the time.

"I don't know how to explain it in words, but this is awesome that we're getting this information to us. It's special," Johnson said, surrounded by family.

The family now lives in Utah.

They hope to raise enough money to make the trip to North Texas so they can thank hospital staff in person.
