Teen Charged in Fatal Stabbing of Plano Teen: Police

A teenager has been charged with murder in Sunday's fatal stabbing of another teen, Plano police say.

Officers arrested 17-year-old Jonathan Teran Rodriguez and charged him with murder in connection with the killing of 16-year-old Jerry Soto, according to Plano Police Department spokesman David Tilley.

Soto and his friend were in front of a residence in the 2900 block of East 15h Street when they began arguing with a person who was walking by at about 10:15 p.m.

Soto followed the person down the street and was stabbed when he confronted him.

Soto's friend found him a short time later and called 911. An ambulance transported Soto to Medical Center of Plano where he was pronounced deceased.

Investigators have not said what led to the confrontation.

Rodriguez remains at the Collin County Detention Center on $1 million bond.
