Forney police said someone called 911 and reported seeing a woman in the back of a yellow Dodge pickup truck yelling for help. The caller said the woman then leapt from the truck's bed as the driver drove away.
The woman who jumped from the truck then called police and said her boyfriend took her truck, threatening to sell it for parts.
While responding to the caller's location, police spotted the truck headed westbound on U.S. Highway 80 at about 8:30 a.m. Forney officers tried to get the driver to pull over, though he initially refused and led officers on a brief chase before stopping near Collins Road.
Officers ordered the man to exit the truck, but he refused.
After Mesquite Police Department's SWAT team arrived at the scene, the man disrobed and surrendered before being taken into custody at about 9:52 a.m.
Police identified the man as 35-year-old Rojelio Villarreal Gonzales and said he was taken to Baylor Scott and White Emergency Center in Forney for an evaluation.
