SUV Crashes Into Apartment Complex After Shooting

A wild ride came to an end at two apartment buildings on Ridgecrest Road in Dallas.

A black Cadillac Escalade plowed into an apartment around 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Inside the SUV, Dallas police found two men, including the driver, who had been shot in the neck. That man has been transported to Baylor Hospital in Dallas, according to police reports.

Investigators believe the incident started at an apartment complex just across the street, where police reports state a man wearing a dark hoodie attempted to carjack the Escalade while armed with a handgun. When the driver tried to flee in the vehicle, police say the gunman opened fire and hit the driver in the neck.

The Escalade then hit multiple parked vehicles at the first apartment complex before backing out of the parking lot and heading across Ridgecrest where the vehicle collided with the other apartment building.

Police believe one man that reportedly fled the scene may have been involved in the incident, though they are not sure he is the gunman.
