A Northeast Dallas family says a security camera captured a thief lurking through their home in broad daylight.
Emily McKeaigg said the thief waited until she left her home with her 1-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son. It only took a short time for the man to snatch a computer and other electronics near the backdoor of the home.
"Then he came, looked out the front window, then looked up at the TV and saw this drop cam video," said Kent McKeaigg.
The camera appeared to catch the moment the man realized his every move was recorded. He was recorded turning the camera away, towards the street.
The McKeaigg couple suspected the man watched Emily leave out front before he came into the back alley and went through the back gate of the property.
"He didn't break the pane; he just used some sort of tool or kicked the backdoor in," said McKeaigg.
"It makes me sad that there's that evil. That someone can walk through a very clearly loved and joyful place and can still do something like that," Emily said.
