Fort Worth police said an armed man was arrested after carjacking an SUV with two kids inside and crashing into a parked lot Thursday morning.
Fort Worth police said the man stole a black Chevy Tahoe from a woman in the 3900 block of East Lancaster Avenue at about 7 a.m. Two small children in the SUV jumped out before the man drove away.
A few minutes later, police said they saw the SUV and began pursuing. The pursuit ended when the man crashed into two parked cars in the 800 block of Macon Street.
Police said the man ran from the crash scene, but was arrested about two blocks away where officers noticed the man had been shot in his arm and abdomen area. Paramedics transported him to John Peter Smith Hospital in fair condition.
