Dallas DA Investigator's Gun Used in Late Night Shooting

Incident happened at an apartment complex near Lemmon Avenue

Two people — including an investigator with the Dallas County District Attorney’s office — have been taken into custody in connection to a late night shooting.

The incident was reported around 10:30 p.m. Thursday at the Parkford Oaks Apartment homes in the 3400 block of Mahanna Street, just off of Lemmon Avenue.

The DA investigator pulled into the parking lot of the apartment complex, according to Dallas police, and was approached by a man she knows. That man proceeded to bang on the windows of the woman’s car, police said.

At that point a third person, a man inside of the investigator’s car, took her weapon from its holster and shot the man banging at the window of the vehicle, police noted.

The person who was shot was taken to Parkland Hospital. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.

The man who reportedly fired the weapon and the investigator with the District Attorney’s office have been taken to Dallas Police Headquarters for further questioning.
