Suspect Arrested in Fatal I-30 Road Rage Shooting: Police

Arlington police say a suspect is in custody for the shooting death of a driver last week along Interstate 30.

Aspen Shaquille Darren Warren is charged with one count of murder and is jailed in Arlington on a $500,000 bond, police said Tuesday evening.

Brittany Daniel, 26, was fatally shot Jan. 27 in the eastbound lanes of I-30 between the Cooper Street and Center Street exits, police said.

Daniel's father, Malcolm, said his family is relieved to know an arrest was made.

"Man, we were so happy to finally ease our pain a little bit. But she's not with us," Malcolm Daniel said. "But it eases our pain to know the person that did it has been caught. We've been learning a little about his person. This person has a lot of hate in his heart. And I hope he gets what he deserves. That's all I would like to say about it. I hope he gets what he deserves."

Investigators said Daniel and a friend were in her gray Honda Accord, driving from Fort Worth to Arlington, when they noticed a smaller, darker-colored, four-door passenger car driving aggressively behind them.

The friend told police the car pulled up alongside of them and a young man sitting in the rear passenger's seat rolled down his window, started yelling obscenities and then fired at least two gunshots.

Daniel had been shot, but was able to pull the car off to the side of the road. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but died a short time later.

Daniel's visitation is Wednesday night and her funeral is on Thursday.
