A student brought an unloaded gun to Bowie High School Wednesday, the Arlington Independent School District confirms.
The district said there was no altercation or injury reported related to the finding and they did not elaborate on how the gun was discovered.
"We take all threats and violations seriously and are taking appropriate disciplinary action against the student who brought the gun to school. Student safety and security are a priority," the district said in a statement to NBC 5 Wednesday.
The student's name has not been released.
