Texas authorities say a stranger helped rescue a man whose car crashed into a pond after falling 30 feet.
The driver was hospitalized Sunday afternoon after his car veered off the President George Bush Turnpike in Farmers Branch.
A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper said the car was traveling southbound when it drifted into the grassy median. He said the car traveled about 60 yards before going off the edge of an embankment and into the water.
He said a bystander was able to retrieve the man and the man's dog from the car.
The driver was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. Authorities haven't released his name or condition.
They are investigating the cause of the crash.
