Texas Storage Facility Robbed Four Times Over Two Weeks

Police are investigating a series of thefts at a storage facility in Dallas, Texas, where 155 units were robbed on four separate occasions during a two-week period in November.

The burglaries happened between Nov. 16-30 at the Extra Space Storage facility on Fort Worth Avenue.

Surveillance video shows three men prying open units, cutting locks with bolt cutters and removing thousands of dollars in property.

“I saw it online and I thought, 'Come check it, come check it,'" said Adoldfo Villapando, who has been renting a unit there for four months. “It just freaked me out that it happened.”

After seeing the video on Monday night, he came to his unit to make sure he could still account for all his belongings.

“I came to store all my stuff here because I’m in the process of buying a house right now, so most of everything I own is in that unit,” Villapando said.

Investigators said the men were able to rob the business multiple times without getting caught because the storage facility's alarm system wasn't working at the time.

The alarm system has since been fixed.

Police are asking for your help identifying the thieves seen in the surveillance footage. If you have information that could help detectives, contact the Dallas Police Department Property Crimes Unit at 214-670-7471.
