Man Crashes Stolen Ambulance into Dallas Warehouse: Authorities

A person being treated by medics in Dallas after a crash has been arrested after authorities say he stole the ambulance and then crashed it into a building.

Dallas Fire-Rescue said the incident happened just after 6 a.m. Tuesday. Officials said no one was injured in the building, which was about a mile away from the first incident along the 1200 block of West Mockingbird Lane.

Officials said the man who took the ambulance was taken into custody by police after the crash but was then taken to a hospital. Police said he had minor injuries and was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas for treatment.

Fire officials said the ambulance had severe front-end damage and had to be removed from service. Officials told NBC 5 the damage to the 2014 ambulance will cost up to $150,000 to repair.
