Investigators are looking into the deaths of a married couple fatally shot Wednesday in an east Mansfield neighborhood.

Mansfield police said Wednesday afternoon they responded to a "person with a weapon call" in the Holland Estates neighborhood at about 11:30 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a woman with an apparent gunshot wound who was pronounced deceased in a neighbor's garage.

Police said officers quickly learned someone at a nearby residence on the 700 block of Fannin Lane may be involved in the shooting and began moving that way. As officers approached the house they reported hearing what sounded like a gunshot come from inside the residence.

Mansfield police said they began treating the incident as a "barricaded person" incident and obtained a search warrant to enter the home. When they entered the home hours later, police found a deceased adult man inside.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office identified the woman as Tracy S. Burton, 39, and the man as Marcus Ruela Burton, 56.

Mansfield police said detectives believe the two were going through a divorce.
