Flower Mound police say a man killed his mother and then himself while his father slept in the home they all shared.
According to police, the murder-suicide occurred at a home in the 1500 block of River Birch Drive around 1:10 p.m. on Monday.
Police said the 31-year-old man, who was living with his parents, took the life of his 57-year-old mother, then killed himself. Both victims were found deceased at the scene when officers arrived.
The husband of the woman and father of the 31-year-old man was in the home at the time, but was not a witness to the killing. Police said the husband has a medical condition and was asleep at the time the homicide occurred.
Police said that had not responded to any calls of violence at the house previous to the incident.
