Southern Methodist University turned 100 this fall and the celebration began Wednesday.
The university planned several events through Sunday celebrating its centennial, resources and community impact.
"We've celebrated SMU students, our beautiful campus, the accomplishments of our faculty and our economic and social impact on North Texas," President R. Gerald Turner said. "This weekend is a culmination of those efforts."
The celebration includes events for alumni, students, parents, staff and the community.
