A new roller coaster is coming to Six Flags Over Texas in 2017.
Officials announced Thursday morning that the park will begin construction soon on The Joker, a free-fly coaster — meaning the seats spin during the ride.
"The unpredictability and gravity-defying somersaults on this award-winning, spinning vertical coaster is the perfect addition to our already impressive coaster line-up," Six Flags Over Texas president Steve Martindale said.
After being lifted up a 12-story hill, riders will flip at least six times during the about one-minute ride that eatures two 90-degree drops, giving riders the sense of free falling.
The Joker will open next spring in the Gotham City section of Six Flags Over Texas.
