SH 114 Bridges in Southlake, Grapevine to Go One Way

Directional changes to be in place for several months

Two bridges linking Southlake and Grapevine will be switched to one-way as part of the DFW Connector project.

Beginning next week, the bridge linking Northwest Highway in Grapevine to Gateway Drive in Southlake will go west while the bridge linking Southlake Boulevard with Wall Street in Grapevine will go east.

Both bridges span state Highway 114.

The change, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports, "is in preparation for the construction of a single eight-lane bridge as part of the $1.02 billion project to widen Texas 114 and Texas 121" and will be in place for several months.

The new bridge is expected to be completed in 2013 and then the old bridges will be demolished.
