Several Dogs Killed In Overnight House Fire

A Dallas family lost everything they had in an overnight house fire Sunday, including several dogs.

Dallas Fire-Rescue was called to the 4900-block of Gurley Avenue at about midnight. When they arrived, fire was spotted coming out of the back of the home.

Several people were inside the home when the fire started, but they were able to make it out without injury.

The family, who had several pets, including a recent litter of seven puppies, said they lost everything inside the home.  All of the chihuahua puppies, including an adult male chihuahua, were killed in the fire.  A female chihuahua, the mother of the puppies, is missing.

Three other dogs, two labs and a poodle, are OK.

The family plans to stay with relatives and is receiving some assistance from the Red Cross.

So far, officials have not said what started the fire.
