A Dallas County inmate who escaped custody last week has been arrested by U.S. Marshals in San Antonio, officials said.
Edgar Jaquez-Moreno, 24, had last been seen Oct. 19 while on work detail outside the fenced area of the Lew Sterrett Justice Center.
Jaquez-Moreno was accompanied by guards while on the detail, officials said.
The Texas Department of Public Safety and Dallas Police Department joined the sheriff's department in searching near the jail, which is located along West Commerce Street near the Trinity River west of Downtown Dallas, but Jaquez-Moreno was nowhere to be found.
The sheriff's department said Jaquez-Moreno is a non-violent offender, but details about additional charges he now faces have not been released.
