Central Texas authorities said a bus driver has been arrested on suspicion of driving drunk while children were onboard.
Leander Independent School District spokeswoman Veronica Sopher told KXAN-TV the bus was transporting kids home from River Ridge Elementary School Thursday. She said the female driver struck a curb and a tree branch that damaged the bus. Another vehicle was dispatched to take the kids home.
No injuries were reported.
A homeowner called the Travis County Sheriff's Office to report the driver ran over a brick mailbox.
Fifth grader Sasha Young said the driver was acting erratically and hit a fire hydrant, some trees and a cactus.
The Travis County Sheriff's Office said the driver was arrested Thursday. Her identity hasn't been released.
