Salvation Army Opens Cooling Stations Friday

In the midst of a Heat Advisory, the Salvation Army will open several cooling stations beginning Friday morning.

Thirteen cooling stations have been set up around North Texas in Dallas, Tarrant, Denton, Collin and Ellis counties.

According to its website, the Salvation Army said the stations are a cool place to stay during the hot hours of the day.

Ice-cold water will be on hand to help people keep cool and there will also be tips on how to stay cool now that the Texas heat has kicked in for the summer.

The organization said its two emergency homeless shelters in Dallas and Fort Worth see the highest among of people in need. These shelters will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. They're located at:
