Russ Martin Show Listeners Foundation Donates $30,000 to Slain Officer's Family

The Russ Martin Show Listeners Foundation has made a generous donation to the fiancee of slain Euless police officer David Hofer.

The foundation sent a check for $30,000 to Euless Police Chief Michael Brown, made payable to Hofer's fiancee Marta Danylyk, in hopes the money may help with any immediate needs the family may have.

"On behalf of every listener of our program, please accept this check for Officer Hofer's fiancee. They understand that words provide some comfort, but actions more profoundly state, "We do not forget."

Hofer, 29, was killed Tuesday during a shootout with an unnamed man near an elementary school. Hofer had been with the Euless Police Department since January 2014 and had previously been employed by the New York City Police Department.

Hofer is survived by his fiancee, his parents and a brother and a sister.

The Russ Martin Show Listeners Foundation has been around since 2002 and has given more than $500,000 to the families of fallen Dallas/Fort Worth first responders.

The Euless Police Benevolent Organization set up an account for those wishing to make donations directly to Hofer's family. Donations are being accepted at My Credit Union, 1014 North Industrial Boulevard in Euless. Donations can be made at that location in cash or by check made payable to EPBO.
