Ron Kirk Says He'll Only Serve One Term as Trade Czar

Kirk to return home, spend time with family

Former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk says if President Barack Obama is elected to a second term, he won't be a part of it.

Kirk told a D CEO magazine writer that serving as trade czar under Obama has been an honor and that he feels humbled to have been a part of his administration.

He now wants to return home to spend more time with his wife and two daughters.

Kirk has not said what he would like to do next, but he does hold a law degree from the University of Texas and previously worked for a Dallas law firm.

In his political career, Kirk has also served as Secretary of State of Texas under then-Gov. Ann Richards.
