Romo Continues to Make Progress, Limited Participant in Practice

Tony Romo put in significant work during Thursday's practice.

No, Tony Romo is not playing Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, the Cowboys listed him as a "limited participant" in Thursday's practice.

It's the first time he's been officially involved in any practice since he injured his back.

"He looks good. A young "9" out there throwing it. He looks rejuvenated and like I said, he brings a lot of energy," said tight end Jason Witten.

On Wednesday, he was in shorts and a t-shirt throwing balls to wide receivers, tight ends and running backs as they warmed up.

Thursday, he wore light padding, the No. 9 jersey and his helmet as he went through drills with the team.

"Him getting back in there is going to have everything to do with how he keeps progressing. We're real encouraged with the daily progression that he's made," said offensive coordinator Scott Linehan. "We haven't really had a time-line for him at all, as far as when."

This is encouraging for Romo in two ways.

First, his back responded well enough that he could throw on Thursday.

Secondly, he practiced with gear on as if he was preparing for a game.
