Retail Gasoline Prices Drop Across Texas

Average price in Texas drops to $3.20

Retail gasoline prices have dropped an average 8 cents across Texas during the first full week of summer.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported that the average price at the pump fell to $3.20 per gallon.

The association survey found that the national average cost for gasoline has dipped a dime to settle at $3.47 per gallon.

El Paso had the most expensive gasoline statewide, at $3.37 per gallon. AAA Texas found that Beaumont had the cheapest gasoline, at $3.14 per gallon.

NBC 5 found a gas station in Keller with gas for $2.98 on Friday.

Experts say concern about the global economy continues to affect future oil demand, putting downward pressure on prices.

AAA has predicted about 3 million Texans plan to travel over the Fourth of July holiday period.
