Retail Gasoline Prices Down 3 Cents This Week Across Texas

Retail gasoline prices in Texas and across the U.S. have declined this week at the start of summer.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average price at the pump statewide slipped 3 cents to settle at $2.59 per gallon. Drivers nationwide were paying $2.78 per gallon, a drop of 2 cents since last week.

Amarillo has the cheapest gasoline statewide at $2.47 per gallon. The association survey found Dallas has the most expensive gasoline in Texas at an average $2.68 per gallon.

AAA officials say pump prices in recent days have stabilized or even dropped in many areas as refineries solve productions issues. Gasoline production typically increases this time of year in anticipation of summer demand.

Summer began last Sunday.
