Search for Missing Jet Skier on Lake Arlington Resumes

Rescuers at Lake Arlington resumed their search Monday for a man who disappeared after going jet-skiing Friday afternoon.

The man's family reported him missing after he went jet-skiing on Lake Arlington Friday without a life jacket and didn't return.

Crews searched for the 43-year-old man Friday and found his jet ski along the north shoreline near the dam. Witnesses said they saw the jet ski floating near the shoreline and pulled it in.

Rescuers continued looking Saturday but suspended their search due to the threat for severe weather.

Texas Game Wardens joined the Arlington Fire Department in the search Sunday, using towable sonar to search for the missing man until sundown.

Arlington police said Monday they have seven rescue boats and approximately 40 people from multiple agencies searching the lake.

The lake remains closed to boat traffic during the search, though fishing is still allowed from the shore, officials said.
