Authorities have recovered the body of a person who fell into a Pilot Point pond from a canoe and never surfaced.
Officials said two adults were on a canoe on a private pond southeast of Pilot Point off Mohon Lane Wednesday. When the canoe tipped over, both adults went into the water and one never resurfaced.[[482235951, R]]
The dive team from the Lewisville Fire Department was dispatched to search for the person. The Texas Game Warden joined the search effort Thursday.
The body was recovered Thursday afternoon, according to the Denton County Sheriff's Office.
The victim has not been identified.
