Repairs have been completed on some washed-out tracks in North Texas blamed for a weekend derailment that sent two locomotives into floodwaters.
A Union Pacific spokesman says the line about four miles north of Corsicana reopened at 7:45 a.m. CDT Wednesday.
Spokesman Jeff DeGraff says work will continue to finish the cleanup and clear out equipment.
Crews hauled in gravel to stabilize the area where flooding before dawn Saturday sent most of a 64-car train off the tracks. The two UP employees on board swam to safety. Nobody was injured.
The derailment happened as the Corsicana area, 50 miles south of Dallas, was pounded with about 20 inches of rain.
The freight cars, bound from Midlothian to Houston, were hauling loose gravel.
