Reno Teen Shot by School Police in 2016 Ordered to Treatment in Texas

A northern Nevada teenager who was shot by a campus police officer during a confrontation at a Reno high school in December 2016 has been ordered to spend at least the next six months at a treatment center in Texas.

Logan Clark was 14 when he appeared to be waiving knives at other Hug High students and was critically shot in the chest.

He was arrested on an unrelated firearm charge last spring but a psychological evaluation determined he wasn't competent to stand trial.

The Reno Gazette Journal reports Clark's public defender argued in family court Tuesday he should be sentenced to outpatient therapy in the Reno area after spending the past seventh months in juvenile detention.

Judge David Humke says he'll be re-evaluated in six months.

Reno police have yet to complete an investigation into the officer-involved shooting.
