The summer heat wave may only be just beginning in North Texas, but Reliant Energy is providing ways for Texans to escape triple-digit temperatures.
For the seventh consecutive year, Reliant Energy will supply electricity to public locations throughout Texas, so people can soak up some free air conditioning without inflating their home energy bill.
The program will launch this summer in Dallas on Friday, June 17 with a “Beat the Heat” event featuring Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings and Councilwoman Tiffinni Young at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center.
Last summer, Reliant funded two Beat the Heat centers in Dallas, the MLK Community Center and the West Dallas Multipurpose Center.
