A registered sex offender from Galveston who molested children and distributed the provocative images from his home has been sentenced to life in prison.
Jose Stephen Gracia was sentenced Wednesday by a federal judge in Beaumont. The 45-year-old Gracia in July pleaded guilty to production of child pornography.
Federal agents last April, amid concerns about possible registration violations, searched Gracia's home and discovered a locked safe. Prosecutors say a digital memory card that was inside showed Gracia engaging in sex acts with children.
Authorities determined the videos were produced in Jefferson County and then distributed from Gracia's residence.
