Puppy Killer Gets Prison for Bashing Stranger's Pet, Then Trying to Bury It

A Garland man who sneaked into a stranger's backyard last fall and smashed her puppy against her concrete patio was sentenced to four years in prison Wednesday.

Fermin Rivera, 28, was convicted of animal cruelty for killing P.J., a 4-month-old Maltese-mix, in September at a Garland home.
