Protesters March Through Downtown Dallas

A group of several dozen demonstrators marched through Downtown Dallas on Thursday to protest a grand jury's decision not to indict a New York City police officer in the death of Eric Garner.

The protesters made their way near the American Airlines Center, where they lied down on the ground and changed, "Hands up, don't shoot."

Dallas police briefly closed northbound Interstate 35E near the American Airlines Center — which was hosting an Usher concert at the time — when several protesters attempted to walk up an off-ramp.

Officers formed a line to stop protestors from jumping onto the interstate. Police said they arrested four women and a man who tried to break through their barricade Thursday night.

Police said the protest was mainly peaceful.

Officers also provided an escort for the march Further details haven't been released.
