Hwy. 121 Reopens in Grapevine After Power Lines Spark Fire

All lanes of a major North Texas highway have reopened, hours after electrical lines landed on a car on the road, police say.[[385609871,R]]

Live power lines struck the vehicle on State Highway 121 at Bass Pro Drive and Interstate 635 at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.

There was a small fire on the utility pole connected to the power lines, which appeared to spark a grass fire next to the highway. The fires have since been extinguished.

The north and southbound lanes of Highway 121 reopened at about 9 p.m. after Oncor completed repairs on the utility lines.

Officials are investigating the initial cause for the live power lines to strike the vehicle. They say there was no evidence that it was caused by a car crash.
